Application for Dual-Degree Program of the Department of Economics of National Taiwan University and Waseda University of Japan

Students who are interested in studying in Waseda University of Japan in April, 2019, should submit their application documents to the Teacher Assistant Chen before 10/12 17:00. Official acceptance letters will be sent out in mid-March of 2019 by Waseda University.

Application Documents:
*Applying for Japanese courses in the School of Political Science and Economics:

  1. Application form
  2. Official transcripts in Chinese, with GPA of at least 3.225
  3. First Level Certificate of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, or Studying abroad in Japan’s exam of at least 220 points (out of 400)
  4. Autobiography and study plans (Chinese and Japanese, one of each)

*Applying for English courses in the School of Political Science and Economics:

  1. Application form
  2. Official transcripts in Chinese, with GPA of at least 3.225
  3. One of the documents below:
    1. Paper-based TOEFL, PBT: at least 550 points
    2. Computer-based TOEFL, CBT: at least 213 points
    3. New internet-based TOEFL, iBT: at least 80 points
  4. Autobiography and study plans (Chinese and English, one of each)

NOTE:

  • Students who participate in this program, after completing three semesters in Waseda University, must return to NTU to continue with their studies for one semester in order to obtain their graduation certificate from Waseda University.
  • Students who participate in this program, 64 credits earned at Waseda University, can at most be credited with 20 credits of general elective.
  • Only students who are third year of above can apply, in addition, students must have taken Principles of Economics, Microeconomics and Macroeconomic courses.
  • The Hong Kong Baixian Foundation has established the Asia Future Leadership Scholarship in 2014 to provide non-Japanese students to apply for admission to Waseda University, but students who apply must compete with local students in Japan.
